The Name
Meet Oogie Boogie — a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that earned its spooky name the moment you see the paint.
The Jeep rolls in Mojito green, a shade so vivid and sickly-sweet that it practically glows in the dark. The owner took one look at that green and immediately thought of the Nightmare Before Christmas villain: a green burlap sack stuffed with bugs and dice, Oogie Boogie himself. The connection was instant and the name stuck.
A burlap sack of bugs meets a Mojito green Rubicon. The theme was born.
The Machine
This isn’t just a themed build — it’s a serious off-road rig hiding behind the spooky exterior.
- 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon Unlimited — the full package from the factory: Dana 44 front and rear axles, factory front and rear lockers, rock rails, and disconnecting sway bar.
- 3.6L Pentastar V6 with a 6-speed manual transmission — driver-focused, mechanical, honest.
- 37-inch tires — pushed the factory 4.10 gears to their limits and set the stage for the whole build story.
The Build Philosophy
The Rubicon came well-equipped from the factory, but 37s on 4.10 gears revealed a clear gap. The build roadmap starts with fixing what needed fixing — not chasing power for its own sake, but restoring the torque and grunt that the tire upgrade consumed. Every phase has a purpose.
The Nightmare Before Christmas theme is the frame. The Jeep is the hero.
Why Oogie Boogie?
Because green burlap and Mojito green are basically the same color. Because the Jeep is big, loud, and slightly menacing on the trail. Because the owner has a sense of humor and an appreciation for a villain who rolls dice and takes chances.
The name fits. The Jeep earned it.
